Trisha is dedicated to advancing museums as leaders in reconciliation, ethical stewardship, and cultural dialogue. With 20+ years in the museum and social impact sector, Trisha has worked in diverse institutions from small heritage sites to provincial museums, honing her ability to set vision, guide teams, and deliver results in resource-constrained environments. Currently, Trisha works as a Curator for the City of Edmonton Museum Collection and has recently attained the honour of being an alumni of Leaders of Tomorrow Canada. Trisha is known for improving systems, building relationships, developing staff, leading with curiosity, being accountable, and strengthening public trust. Having worked in a variety of roles, and with many different institutions, her experience spans all areas of museum function. Her most specialized expertise is in curatorship, collections management, strategic planning, and project management. Some accomplishment highlights include authoring updated museum policies grounded in UNDRIP and TRC recommendations, attaining Recognized Museums status for multiple museums, collaboratively curating exhibits that have positively impacted people’s lives, and providing improved preservation and access to tens of thousands of artifacts. Trisha truly believes in the role of museums to serve communities, memory and future generations. In order to fulfill this role, Trisha is continually learning by participating in conferences, courses, webinars, workshops and more, hosted locally and internationally. Trisha is an alumni of the UK’s Open Palaces Programme, and an active member of the Commonwealth Association of Museums, Canadian Museums Association, and the Alberta Museums Association. Since 2014 Trisha has been an instructor for the Alberta Museums Association’s Certificate in Museum Studies Program. Teaching, attending community events, turning colleague networks into friendships, and visiting dozens of museums and historic sites around the globe each year in her travels, ensures that Trisha is well connected and a relevant contributor to the museum community.
