SHARON McDUFFE | Administrative and Communications Assistant

Following the completion of her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Classics from the University of Alberta, Sharon spent a decade in Scotland and Ireland, fueling her passion for the historic environment and the conservation of museum artefacts. With over twenty years of office administration under her belt, Sharon has supported various non-profit and governmental organizations abroad, including the Scottish Society for Conservation and Restoration, Built Environment Forum Scotland and its Historic Environment Review Taskforce, the Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland, and the Major Projects Team within Historic Scotland’s Properties In Care department, which oversees the country’s finest visitor attractions.

Through volunteering at the Glasgow Museums Resource Center, and the Royal Armouries in Leeds, Sharon gained valuable experience in the handling of museum collections, and the conservation of metals and leather. Following training in goldsmithing, bladesmithing, and leather repairs, she was an Instructor at the City Arts Centre in Edmonton for several years, and continues to produce new work.

Sharon holds her Certificate in Museum Studies with the Alberta Museums Association, and places great value on the power of creativity, the health of our planet, and professional integrity.
