Trisha has been working and volunteering in museum and the not-for-profit sector since 2005 and currently works as a Curator for the City of Edmonton Heritage Collections. In community museums, art centres, universities and government institutions she has been involved in all areas of museum function from visitor services to executive director. In all of Trisha’s work, a community engagement centered approach is fundamental, with the primary goal being to share museum’s unique offerings with their communities.

Trisha possesses a wealth of experience and a diverse skill set specific to collections management, curatorship, and museum theory from the local to an international perspective. For a variety of museums Trisha has developed policies and procedures, gained Recognized Museum status from the Alberta Museums Association, wrote successful grant applications to increase organizational capacity, managed collections storage re-organization & digitization projects, and curated exhibitions that broke attendance records.

Trisha is an alumni of the Open Palace Programme, which involved an in depth study tour of museums and historic sites in SW England doing hands-on projects with conservators and minds-on problem solving with curatorial and programming staff. With museum professionals from around the world she took on challenges such as decolonizing museum spaces and repatriation at some of England’s most visited sites.

Trisha is knowledgeable and passionate about all aspects of museum operations. Which led to her being selected as an instructor for the Alberta Museums Association Museum Management course in 2014. Teaching is one way that Trisha stays connected in the museum community. She is also committed to life-long learning to have the most up to date information to help museums best serve their communities and share stories.
